Frequently Asked Questions by Tutees

  1. At what point do I have to pay?

Only when you have chosen to accept a tutor's offer of tuition do we charge a £9.99 introduction fee. It is free to search, browse and contact tutors. You must pay your tutor their hourly rate directly. We ask that tutees please honour their commitment and arrange and pay for their first lesson with their selected tutor. This means the tutor's fees are always covered. Beyond this, your decision to continue with your tutor will obviously be a reflection of how well your first lesson progresses. Please refer to our terms and conditions for further details.

  2. How do I choose a tutor?

Please see our article, Which Tutor? for guidance.

  3. Do you CRB check tutors?

No. The tutor profiles are written by the tutors themselves. We would recommend tutees request to see a CRB certificate and any other declared qualifications at the beginning of the first lesson.

  4. How do I contact the tutors?

Contact a prospective tutor free of charge by becoming a member. Once your tutor has received and accepted your request we will release their contact details at your request, conditional upon you paying a £9.99 fee. We also e-mail the tutor your details simultaneously so you can both contact one another.

  5. I have not heard from a tutor and wish to release their details.

It may be your tutor is on holiday or temporarily unavailable. We contact all tutors as soon as you make your enquiry but cannot force them to respond. We would always recommend contacting more than one tutor.
