Information About Abigail
Personal Description: I have wanted to be a teacher since before I could talk! I am currently a University of Nottingham student who is taking American Studies so that I can broaden my knowledge of a range of disciplines (from history to literature) before taking a postgraduate degree in teaching in a couple of years. I love the English language and literature and have always loved passing on this passion to others. I am organised, friendly and creative, and love coming up with new ways to get information to stick.
Tutoring Experience: I have 3 months experience teaching two Iranian boys English as a second language.
I volunteered as a classroom assistant for two years during sixth form.
I have worked in two libraries with children.
Tutoring Approach: I use my creativity to come up with games to help with grammar, vocabulary and comprehension skills. I am always very fair and although I expect my students to be hard working, I am extremely conscientious in my approach to lessons and plan each one for at least an hour and a half beforehand. I think it is important to use a range of resources which I have collected over the past few years.
