Personal Description: I graduated from Newcastle University with a Masters degree in Chemistry, with the intent to pursue a career within the chemical industry. I currently hold a position in the industry, but I feel this is a career which I is not for me.
Since this realisation and with the aid of guidance, I now feel that I am best suited within the education sector. Starting in September of this year I will be studying a PGCE course at Durham University, where I will begin my journey to become a science teacher.
In the meantime, I wish to gather some valuable teaching experience and believe that personal tuition will be a fantastic way to obtain this.
Aside from my career, I am a typical person who is easy to work with and I enjoy most other activities as anyone, for example sports.

Tutoring Experience: I have little experience of teaching first hand, however I have spent some time in several schools in Durham shadowing the teaching staff, witnessing the classroom experience from the teachers point of view in contrast to the pupils.
As for any position experience has to be gained, with the only way of being able to acquire an experience is to actually go and do it.

Tutoring Approach: I aim to tune my style of tutoring to the age group of my tutee, in the hope that I can explain what it is I am teaching in a way that can be understood.
I intend to spend as much time on a topic as my tutee wishes, as for me the most important thing is for my tutee to understand what is being taught.
I will provide a brief recap at the beginning of each session, in the hope that little is forgotten, but to also engage my tutees mind into the subject I will be teaching.
My resources will come from many textbooks and internet, and I will provide some exercises to test my tutee. I will also try and gain access to past papers and the syllabus of exam boards to ensure that everything required is covered.

• Chemistry A-Level
• PE A-Level

From Gill (5/5): Adam has been tutoring my daughter in A level Chemistry for only a few weeks, but so far we are very happy; he is always punctual, very organised, he has pre-prepared work for them to cover in the sessions, and they spend the full 2 hours working. My daughter already feels that she has learned a lot and her confidence in Chemistry is increasing for her exams in June.
