Information About Alastair
Personal Description: Hello. I'm Alastair. I have been involved with arts and language education for the last twenty-five years, both as a teacher (in the UK and in Spain) and as a professional actor on stage, TV and most notably, for the BBC Radio Drama Company. I have a great deal of experience as a one-to-one tutor and am able to communicate my enthusiasm for language and literature (I am a fluent Spanish speaker and a highly-qualified English teacher) and the Arts.
Tutoring Experience: I have taught English as a Foreign Language up to the highest levels of Proficiency and University Preparation for a number of years and have run courses both in the UK and in Spain. This has included many successful one-to one learning situations.
I also teach BA Drama at a local university and lecture on English Literature. In addition I have taught various masterclasses in radio technique.
Tutoring Approach: The emphasis in my teaching is always communication. I believe the optimum learning experience is when there is an open dialogue between tutor and student.
This is always backed up by the nuts and bolts of the subject and dependent on the specific needs of the learner, but will always be engaging and motivational.
