Information About Amanda
Personal Description: I am a Primary PGCE student so I have up-to-date experience of working with children. I have a degree in Business Management and A Levels in English Literature, Business Studies, and ICT. I also am a qualified Sports Leader so I know the importance of motivation in children.

Tutoring Experience: I have been tutoring priviately and through an agency for a few months now, but I have tutored children of friends and family for several years. I currently tutor Foundation, KS1 and KS2 children in London and Surrey. I have recently taught in several primary schools in London and Surrey as part of my teacher training course and this will be extended over the next year.
Tutoring Approach: I am flexible in my tutoring approach and will listen to the needs of the child and their parents. I aim to follow what the child has been learning in school and help to extend and stretch this. All planned activities follow the National Curriculum.
I offer tuition on a one-to-one basis as it is a very productive way to learn. Students are tutored in either their own home or in my home, depending on what you feel most comfortable with. I have my own car so I can travel to your home easily. On meeting your child I would begin by putting them at ease and playing a few fun ice-breaker type educational games. This will give me an indication of their personality and how they like to work. I will then start to identify their strengths and weaknesses in the first session in order to put together a tuition programme suitable for your child. The level of work done in each session is flexible and can be changed to suit the pace of the student. The needs of the student and their parents always come first, but I will recommend a programme which I think would be most suitable. Homework can be given free of charge and this can be easy or more challenging, it's up to you! I give regular, constructive feedback to the child and to the parents, which can help you to work together when our hour is up. I praise my students regularly and give out stickers for every positive session.
