Information About Andrew
Personal Description: Working locally as a management consultant I provide specialist advice on IT and computer-based learning. My name is Andrew. I am 42 years old and I enjoy most sports and the arts. I am physically fit and you will often find me at the gym working out. I have a bachelors degree and a PhD in Mechanical Engineering and I was a University academic for nearly 15 years before becoming a consultant.
Tutoring Experience: I taught engineering at University level for over 15 years to classes of between 50-100 and I was particularly adept at making difficult subjects understandable and boring subjects interesting. I was consistently rated an excellent lecturer in peer reviews and was always popular with undergraduate students. I am always friendly and approachable and believe there is no such thing as a 'stupid' question. I was also a university admissions tutor and careers advisor for many years and if I can help you in this area then please ask.
Tutoring Approach: Every student is an individual and I will tailor my approach to your needs. Initially I will ask you to bring along sample problems and we will work through them together. This will enable me to understand how much of the fundamental concepts you have grasped and what we need to work on. The true test of learning is if the same concepts can be applied in different scenarios and I will work with you in this way to develop your skills. I also believe in making learning ENJOYABLE!

From Lara Barron (5/5): Enjoying working with Andrew - he took time to understand what I need to learn and how best to teach me.
Also has a good sense of humur - so lessons are not dull!
From Barbara Moffat (5/5): Andrew has helped Philip a great deal with his maths studies for his foundation degree. He is supportive and encouraging. It is great to see Philip gaining confidence in his approach to a subject he has always found challenging.
From Sarah Bowen (5/5): Superb tutor, really inspired by daughter - he has encouraged her, given her confidence and belief in her own ability
From Harriet Scott (5/5): The couple of sessions have been a great success. Lets hope we are able to get something regular going for the next few weeks. The entrance exams start on 4th November so I hope by then Lucy will be ready.
See you on Monday. Best wishes Harriet
