Personal Description: I am a Research Scientist who works with Mathematics every day. I enjoy the challenge of tutoring students of different abilities and seeing them improve with your assistance.

Tutoring Experience: Tutored mathematics for the last 16 years. I have also taught at University level and I am a Registered Marker for the National Curriculum tests.

Tutoring Approach: The key is to identify the student's weak areas and build their confidence. I provide detailed notes and set homeworks on these weak areas. I also use past papers extensively to give the student a good idea of what they will eventually be undertaking and I stress the importance of good exam technique.

Qualifications:

• BSc in Mathematics & Statistics
• PhD in Applied Mathematics
• Chartered Mathematician with the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications

Andrew was asked to make an independent assessment of my son's abilities including exam technique (a possible weakness). Andrew has helped my son build confidence and given guidance on focus areas for engineering mathematics. I believe his assistance and experience (both in the subject matter and as a tutor) has been valuable and I wish we had sought this assistance earlier.

From Raakhi Sunak (4/5): Really enjoyed the lessons. I learnt lots and covered all the topics I felt unsure about. Also my confidence really improved.
Unfortunately I didn't get through to the next round, I thought I did well on the test but turns out others did better!
In any case, I don't regret having taken the lessons. I really valued your advice and help and I happy that I brushed up on my maths skills. Always a useful skill to have for future occasions.
