Personal Description: Former Headteacher of an HMC 10-18 independent school, currently taking career break to raise children, experienced in teaching Religious Studies and Philosophy to A level. Experience of Common Entrance preparation, individual school entrance examinations at 11+ and 13+, extensive experience of UCAS and university admissions, specialising in advising and preparing students for entrance to Oxbridge or other top universities in Theology, Religious Studies and Philosophy. Experience of teaching at KS2 and KS3, as well as examining RS at both GCSE and A level; extensive experience also of independent school entrance procedures and interviews - coaching a speciality.

Tutoring Experience: I have taught RS in both the state and independent sector and can support students studying ethics, philosophy, world religions and Christian Theology. A former housemistress in an independent senior boarding school, Academic Deputy Head in a top academic girls' independent school and Head of a leading HMC boys' school, I have also been Head of PSHE as well as Head of RS in a state school.

Tutoring Approach: Individual plans tailored to suit the specific needs of a child, either as long term support to classroom teaching or pre-exam top-up preparation. I aim to build confidence and examination technique skills, building on the work done by the class teacher. for entrance examination and interview preparation I will work in a relaxed yet purposeful way with your child, helping to draw out their best qualities and develop examination skills.
