Personal Description: Hi! I've recently moved into the Staffordshire area from being located in Norfolk and before that Liverpool, so I enjoy exploring new places! Although full time teaching takes up a lot of time, I enjoy walking with friends and family and spending time visiting all those old friends dotted up and down the United Kingdom. I'm a down to earth person, good sense of humour and confident with my abilities.

Tutoring Experience: I have taught full time for three years now (two and a half in Norfolk) and before that I have a long and diverse list of teaching / education places throughout the United Kingdom. I spent five years working in IT before making the leap to teaching.
In the last three years I have taught SATs (successfully getting 80%+ of my pupils to Level 5), Year 5 and Year 4 in various locations. I have experience of teaching younger children too.
I have worked with all ranges of abilities within my classes, knowing how to stretch and challenge any pupil while giving them adequate and appropriate support.

Tutoring Approach: I feel that tutoring involves building a good relationship with the learner to ensure that their needs are being met, and to ensure that although they are progressing and developing their given skills, they are also enjoying it, as there is nothing worse for a child to not enjoy school and then to not enjoy it some more at home with a tutor. I believe in targeting key areas of weakness, as defined by the learner and learner's parents, and to give encouragement, praise and support to enable the learner to acheive their potential.
