Personal Description: I am Head of Science at the Thomas Hardye School in Dorchester, having previously been the Head of Biology .

Tutoring Experience: I have been teaching for 17 years and have experience in OCR and AQA science at double and triple award. I teach AQA AS and A2 Biology and Human Biology, but have experience of teaching other boards, including OCR. I also teach IB Biology to both Standard and Higher levels.

Tutoring Approach: My teaching style is to simplify difficult topics by breaking them into small workable topics. I take great pride in my work and spend a considerable amount of time planning and assessing students' work. As I have many years experience of teaching, I am very proficient in assessing students' abilities and personalising lesson plans to accomodate them, and have a wealth of resources I can bring to my lessons. I am an advocator of using Assessment For Learning as a learning tool so students can identify themselves where they can improve. I am running training courses around the country this summer, training teachers in the use of AfL in Biology and Science GCSE and A Level lessons.
