Personal Description: I have been a qualified primary teacher for ten years and have experience of teaching in a wide variety of schools including mainstream primary, special and international. I have taught children with autism, both within a classroom setting and on a one to one basis, where I gained experience of Lovaas Therapy.

Tutoring Experience: Whilst living in the Netherlands for four years I gained much experience of teaching young children for whom English was not their first or even their second language. I found this work to be very enjoyable and recognised the importance of creating a safe, stimulating and language rich environment. I have developed many ways of communicating; through speech, song, signs and symbols which cater for all learning styles and enable the rapid growth of language skills. I believe in the creation of a warm, positive, nurturing environment in which children are allowed to be themselves, grow in confidence and develop at their own pace. I also have experience of teaching English as a foreign language to students of secondary school age and to adults on a one to one and small group basis.

Tutoring Approach: I am able to offer tuition in English as a foreign language to children and adults.

Basic Skills, Communication and Social Skills to children with special educational needs.

Literacy and Numeracy for Primary aged children who would benefit from a little extra support in these areas.
