Information About Christine
Personal Description: I have been a teacher for 30 years and love it .I recently moved to Scotland after living in Suffolk for 20 years.I enjoy walking with my husband in the beautiful scenery of Argyll-bird watching and looking out for deer and squirrels! I love travelling and have been to Kenya, Goa ,and Jerusalem for example .I have two cats whose company I find very therapeutic!I love art and enjoy sketching and painting.My youngest daughter graduates from university this year and hopes to become a journalist .
Tutoring Experience: I have taught in main stream for several years - then did "supply" teaching while my children were young.In 1996 I was asked to run a small group of children who had specific problems such as school phobia ,ADHD ,excluded children etc The group was a success with the majority of children returning to main stream school .I carried on teaching individual children with varying problems - behavioural, low self esteem, ME,pregnancy, agrophobia ,school phobia etc
Tutoring Approach: I am a quiet ,peaceful individual and have a lot of patience. I find I am never a "threat" to my pupils and can usually gain their confidence quickly .I like children and I think they recognise this .I am interested in their interests and treat them with respect.I find that art therapy can help children who have specific problems .I listen to what they have to say.I try to make lessons as interesting as possible .
