Information About Chus
Personal Description: I am a native Spanish speaker from the North of Spain resident in the UK for the last 14 years. I am fully qualified as a Spanish teacher having studied Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language at International House in Madrid. I am well-travelled both in Europe and Latin America.
Tutoring Experience: I have been teaching Spanish on a one-to-one basis and to small groups since 2004, with great success at all levels particularly GCSE, A and AS level and the Open University. I also prepare a large number of students for their prospective new lives in Spain when they decide to emigrate.
I also taught English to primary-school-age children in Spain for 5 years.
Tutoring Approach: The most important aspect of my teaching is the ability to tailor my classes to the student's needs. My favoured approach is communicative i.e. allowing the student to use the language as much as possible, backed up by the necessary grammar and structure. I use audio/visual materials and a course book to place the student in a variety of authentic situations.
