Personal Description: I am embarking on a career in teaching after spending several years working in marketing and fundraising in the charity sector.

Tutoring Experience: During my PGCE studies I enjoyed successful placements in both Key Stage 1 and 2 and I am therefore qualified to teach all National Curriculum subjects. I found the ICT and time management skills I developed during my previous career to be particularly useful when planning fun, informative and interactive lessons for the children. I particularly enjoyed teaching numeracy and received a ‘very good’ grade for this aspect of my teaching as well as an A* for my final numeracy project on identifying and teaching gifted mathematicians.
As a result I specialise in tutoring children in numeracy.

Tutoring Approach: I believe that it is key that children enjoy the subjects they are studying in order to be successful learners. As a result, I use a variety of creative resources, to allow every pupil the greatest chance of success.

In addition, I also use praise and rewards to encourage children, as we work through progressively structured tasks which address the areas of their knowledge that need to be developed, as well as reinforcing their present areas of strengh. In order to achieve this, I use reward schemes and aim to create and a calmer and positive learning enviornment in which all children can achieve their full potential.

• PGCE Primary (QTS)
• 2 A -Levels, 10 GCSEs
• Stage 1 British Sign Language
