Personal Description: My name is Fiona. I am a 24 year old university graduate. I studied Spanish and German at university and I have lived and worked for a number of months in countries where these languages are spoken. I am passionate about travelling and experiencing other cultures. I also take great pleasure from passing on information and language skills to others. I am a fun and energetic person with lots of hobbies, but I am also very organised and professional in any venture to which I commit myself.

Tutoring Experience: I have previously worked as a private Spanish tutor and I have also worked as a teacher for Greenwich Viaggi summer schools where I taught English to Spanish, Italian and Russian teenagers. What's more during my CELTA course I had one month of observed English teaching to adults.

Tutoring Approach: I think first of all it is important to understand exactly what it is the student wants to get from the classes; whether they are learning in preparation for a holiday, an exam or a business venture. After that it is vital that I understand how the student learns and the ways in which they most enjoy learning. And thereafter, my classes should be prepared in advance so as to get the most out of the lesson. After learning 2 languages personally, I realise a good mixture of verbal, aural and written work are neccessary in the learning process. And of course, the classes should be good fun!

Qualifications:

• 2:1 MA in Spanish and German with Interpreting and Translating
• B pass in the CELTA (Certificate for English Language Teaching to Adults)
