Personal Description: I am a second year Vet Student at Cambridge University and am looking to tutor during this Summer. All the subjects I am offering to tutor I took at A level, so I have a great and recent awareness of the specific courses and exam technique.
Tutoring Experience: I have tutored year nine students at my previous school for maths, and out of school for chemistry and biology at A level. These experiences have left me eager to spend more time teaching, as I feel that my recent experience of school teaching systems, and an ability to think of a range of ways to approach a subject, as well as my enjoyment of the subjects will allow me to convey clearly and with enthusiasm, information needed for all the subjects.
Tutoring Approach: The most important thing I have learned from being taught and teachng, is that one style of teaching is insufficient. People's different learning styles and confidence lvels mean that many routes by which to convey information must be available. I hope to communicate the enthusiasm I have for the subjects as an underlying principle, and approach the subjects from as many different perspectives as needed to give my tutees confidence to understand and remember information. I also know about the importance of exam technique, and would ensure that teaching this was paramount, in the hope that results would match effort, as is so often frustratingly and inappropriately not the case!
