Personal Description: I am a BA Cantab available to tutor in English Language and Literature, Media and Film from GCSE up to first year undergraduate level. I'm also happy to help with Oxbridge applications for English Literature - for example setting up mock interviews, suggesting reading outside of the A-Level course, and providing information about different colleges. I will be in Sheffield for the next two years at least as I am studying a Masters at Sheffield part-time. I may enrol on a PGCE course after that.

Tutoring Experience: I have worked with groups of A-Level students preparing to study English at University, and have been a member of first tutors for about seven months, tutoring at both GCSE and A-Level. I also worked with A-Level students immediately after my degree on an informal, and - sadly - unpaid basis.

Tutoring Approach: I am a friendly teacher who feels that the best way to get results is to enjoy the subject myself and to ensure that my tutee enjoys it as well. It is important to me to impart an interest in the texts, and I think that long term this is demonstrated in the results. That said, I also have a practical attitude towards examinations and coursework assessment objectives, and ensure that these are looked at in detail in my sessions.
