Personal Description: I am enthusiastic about English, it is THE means of communication: however, I work at the pace the student needs, making sure that the work under scrutiny is clear and coherent. I am very patient, working at an issue from differing angles until both the student and I are convinced that the work is understood. Having taught to all ages and abilities, I believe I have a sensitivity towards my students, whose company and input I greatly enjoy. It is amazing the interpretations that could be put upon writing, and every student has the potential to achieve. Each lesson must have clear aims and objectives, and, very importantly, memorable.

Tutoring Experience: I have taught in comprehensive schools and colleges for over 30 years. I have taught to all abilities and at all times I have felt fulfilled with my work. During this period of time I have instilled an awareness of the importance of accurate language work; a love of Literature,and words.

Tutoring Approach: I think it is most important that the student feels comfortable with their learning, that it takes place within a calm and encouraging atmosphere.
All students have different requirements and I will do my very best to provide the student with the approach that works with them, whether it be an enthusiastic, lively and entertaining one which they find enjoyable, or quiet and thoughtful. The needs of the individual are paramount.
