Personal Description: I am a mother of two and my eldest has just started primary school this year. I have worked in the food industry as a Senior Development Technologist developing dairy desserts for Nestle and Mars. Following that I was a Technical Service Chemist and then progressed into National Account Manager role. I have decided to take this opportunity to try and re-direct my career to allow me to have a better balance between home and work. I have worked as a volunteer in our local youth groups organising social activities and fund raising events.
Tutoring Experience: My previous work experience has allowed me to work with people of varying abilities which in turn I feel is valuable in enabling me to also tailor my teaching methods to your childs abilities. Having my own children has certainly made me more understanding, patient and conscientious to their needs.
I have tutored a number of degree level students to gain better understanding of the Maths component of their degree.
Tutoring Approach: I prefer to help children understand the concept as opposed to merely memorising the subject. I appreciate that there is a wide range of mathematical abilities, but I believe that everyone can make progress. My main aim is to build the tutee's confidence. Confident, dedicated and passionate approach, using a wide range of teaching methods tailored to how your child learns. I believe it is important to monitor and report on our progress throughout the tutoring process.
