Personal Description: I am a 31yo Australian who currently calls Newcastle Upon Tyne home but who works in Essex during the week and is available to tutor on weekday evenings. I have a passion for learning and travelling and believe that a life spent discovering the wonderful world around us is a well spent life!

I have a University Degree in History and Geography and formal qualifications in Training and adult education. My passion is all things history, geography and English but I am versatile and in the end it is how something is taught which creates learning...not just throwing out facts and figures!

Tutoring Experience: I have been involved in teaching, coaching and training children, teenagers and adults for the past 10 years. I was an instructor in the Australian Army, a debating and public speaking coach at a Boys High School and currently train adults in how to use PCs and associated equipment. I also continue to coach children in sport such as Cricket and Tennis.

Tutoring Approach: I like to understand the learner. Effective learning cannot take place until it is known how the learner best reacts to different styles and techniques of learning. Does the learner require knowledge or the skills necessary to find the knowledge themselves? Learning should be meaningful and based on the learner which why I tailor my lessons to them.
