Personal Description: At present I am teaching French to a primary school group one afternoon per week and also do one-to one tuition at home in French and Spanish to children and adults. In addition to several years teaching experience, I have also been employed on an annual basis since 1988 by AQA as an examiner for GCSE French Listening and Speaking tests and therefore have considerable insight into the standards required at this level.

Tutoring Experience: Although, until recently, I have mainly been out of classroom teaching for some years, I have several years experience of modern language teaching, many of which as Head of Department. A detailed CV is available upon request. In addition to this, I have been giving individual tuition for about seven years; references are available from my students upon request. I have on occasion given tuition to groups of up to 5 students.

Tutoring Approach: I favour a relaxed , friendly approach to tutoring and believe I have had good relationships with all my present and past students. I try to tailor each lesson to the individual needs of the student; for example I adopt a grammatical or a mainly oral approach, depending on his or wishes and also taking into account any demands made by syllabi (eg GCSE/A level students). I try to conduct much of each lesson in the target language concened.
