Information About Jia Yan
Personal Description: I have newly graduated from Cambridge University in Electrical and Information Engineering. I also studied at Massachusetts Institute of Technology for 1 year on a competitive exchange programme, gaining a GPA of 4.7/5.0. Outside of work, I enjoy playing sports and I love to travel.
Tutoring Experience: I have tutored Maths and Sciences for over a year. Outside of First Tutors, I am a Science and Engineering Ambassador, where I help teach children about aspects of science and technology through hands-on activities. I have also taught Photography to developmentally disabled people between the ages of 8 and 80 at a summer camp in Florida.
Tutoring Approach: I approach tutoring by first listening to the tutee and understanding the problems he/she has before working together to consolidate exam material and improve the chances of gaining a good grade. I would give full support and encouragement during a session as well as guidance on how to study independently outside the session to maintain a steady rate of progress.
Qualifications:
MEng, BA(Hons)
Further Mathematics A-Level: A, Mathematics A-Level: A, Biology A-Level: A, Chemistry A-Level: A, Physics A-Level: A
