Personal Description: I am 28 years old. I am married but have no children of my own as yet. I am a keen musician and I play piano and drum kit amongst other things and enjoy sharing my expertise with others. I am very well organised and manage my time effectively, but do work full time at a school and so have some commitments that very occasionally require some flexibility from my tutees.

Tutoring Experience: I have been teaching Maths and Music in primary and secondary schools for 6 years. I hold a degree in Music and a PGCE (Secondary), although I have taught Music to as young a 3 years old. I am currently working as a Year 3 class teacher of all subjects in a local independent school.

Tutoring Approach: I like making learning fun in any way that I can and use lots of practical activities, particularly with younger children. I find that it helps the memory when an task is enjoyable. With children in the older age bands, I am happy to move them along as slowly of quickly as they prefer. Teaching primary has led me to a much higher level of patience than I ever knew was possible and I like to think that I can empathise and support any child, whether gifted or struggling in any given subject. I am happy to offer subjects other than those mentioned if required, although this would have to be on the basis of a clearly defined agreement about the areas that you wish me to cover.
