Personal Description: I have a life-long passion for science and for making it accessible and enjoyable to everyone. Seeing someone realise something for the first time, see a cell under a microscope or solve a problem and share that fulfilment with them is what motivates me to teach. My aim is to be able to share my knowledge and understanding and to give students confidence in their abilites.

Tutoring Experience: I teach a number of courses with the Open University. These are the science foundation course (A level equivalent) including biology, chemistry, physics and earth sciences plus study skills such as basic maths for science, esay writing and exam preparation: degree level geology: human nutrition. I also teach at an independant 6th form college for overseas students (A level biology and Accounts and run my own workshops and fieldtrips in herbal medicine and plant use.

Tutoring Approach: I want to make the learning experience fun and informative. A mix of me making the material understandable coupled with the student working on their own to reinforce their learnign and enable their skills to grow (so yes, I set homework! But its quickly marked with detailed help on how to improve for next time ).

Qualifications:

• 1st Class Honours degree in Natural Science (biology, geology, environmental topics)
• Upper Second Honours degree in Herbal Medicine (included biochemistry, anatomy, medicien as topics
