Information About Kate

Personal Description: I am in my twenties, a qualified teacher and a full-time mum living in Belper. I thoroughly enjoy tutoring, as it gives me the opportunity to look at the same topics in so many different ways. I am also keen on reading, playing music, cooking (and eating) and hiking, and do various bits of voluntary work for charity.

Tutoring Experience: After teaching for a number of months in Kenya, I decided to switch from studying medicine to teaching. I now have a PGCE and qualified teacher status, and taught students from 11-18 years old in a comprehensive school in Nottinghamshire until I became a mum.
I have experience with teaching both groups and individuals, and am up to date with teaching techniques and exam styles.

Tutoring Approach: I strongly believe that everyone is able to learn practically anything if only they are taught it in the right way. I use lots of different teaching styles to ensure that tutees become confident with topics they have been confused about previously.
I offer a free first meeting in order that I can find out exactly what tutees hope to gain from tuition, and to get to know what styles of tuition would suit them.
