Personal Description: I am a post-doctoral research scientist, currently investigating the effects of maternal nutrition on the development of disease. I received a 1st Class degree in Biology from the University of Portsmouth, and a PhD in Molecular Biochemistry. I’ve studied a wide range of biological sciences, and am able to provide both in depth and concise tuition on curricular topics.
Tutoring Experience: Throughout my PhD I successfully supervised several undergraduate biology students with great success. I have also demonstrated several practical classes for undergraduate Biochemistry. In my current post I have facilitated two tutor groups of graduate entry medical students through a range of clinical science topics. And I can’t forget helping my nephew and cousins through their GCSE science exams!
Tutoring Approach: My approach to tutoring is tailored to the tutee depending on their requirements, whether it be an exam focused approach, or more to achieve a more panoramic knowledge of Biology or science as a whole. However, I have a real interest in my subject, and without exception I hope to leave all tutees with a renewed enthusiasm for Biological Science!
Qualifications:
1st Class (hons) BSc Biology, PhD in Molecular Biochemistry
From Jo Grobbelaar (5/5): Kimberley has been a fantastic tutor who really helped me out of a desperate situation with my own work. In the last two months of my degree I realised that I was falling apart due to a mental block with my dissertation. She helped me to see things more clearly and worked with me, within the time schedule and at my pace. I even have time for a bit of tinkering before handing in my final draft.
I would recommend Kimberly Bruce with confidence to any other students. She helped me not only complete my work on time but regain my confidence and control. As a mature student who has put her life on hold to do this course, she has made the difference between me graduating and not graduating!
I would be happy to be contacted for a reference for Kim.
Regards
Jo Grobbelaar
