Personal Description: I'm Laura Macmillan and I from Manchester. I'm a school librarian and english literatutre specialist.

Tutoring Experience: I began tutoring this year for A Level Film Studies and English Language, so even though I have only registered as English I am available for film studies and media studies tutoring. I work in a high school as a Librarian which means that I have first hand knowledge of the syllabus from years 7 -11. I also have expereinced with special needs and challenging behaviour. I specialise in reading stratergies and syllbus set ups targeting younger male pupils who find they have little motivation within their english lessons.

Tutoring Approach: I am a very positive tutor, who prefers to teach in a relaxed atmosphere, making the subject fun and informal. I spend the first half of the term tutoring the subject modules, especially modules which the pupil does not feel confident with. This term encapsulates coursework and key modules. In the second term, I focus on revision and practicing essay questions which will prepare the pupil for their exams and finally, I teach two short sessions on exam techniques and how to succeed in exams.
I am a very positive and patient tutor who refses to give up until a pupil succeeds.
