Information About Lucy
Personal Description: I studied Linguistic Science at the University of Reading, then taught English as a foreign language in Greece for a few years before training to become a primary school teacher at Goldsmiths College, University of london. I teach part time in primary schools, and I am offering tuition in Numeracy and Literacy, and other National Curriculum subjects on request.
I am widely travelled and have lived, studied and worked abroad.
Tutoring Experience: I am a fully qualified primary school teacher (ages 3-11) and have taught all ages and abilities of children (foundation, key stage one and key stage two) in the primary age range, including special educational needs and English as an additional language. My specialist subjects are Literacy and Numeracy, and I have taught all the National Curriculum subjects extensively. I have also taught pupils with special educational needs.
Tutoring Approach: My approach is child-centred, and I believe learning should be fun. I teach through fun activities, combined with work from commercial exercise books and other interesting resources, referring to the areas of learning relevant to the child's age and ability. I keep careful records of each child's progress, and bring something new to each session.
