Information About Maria-Daniela
Personal Description: I'm a graduate of the Faculty of Letters (1996) - French and Romanian languages - with five years working experience as a school teacher (in Romania). Liable, enthusiastic, organised, methodical, fast having good communication skills.
Currently I'm youth worker in Linksfield Community Centre, Aberdeen.
Tutoring Experience: September 1996 – August 2001– School teacher, teaching Romanian and French literacy.
My duties were: assessment of learning needs; provide Romanian and French literacy learning opportunities, both through direct tuition and pupil support; keep suitable records to facilitate planning, monitoring and evaluation of the learning experiences provided; provide first line guidance to pupils and assist in appropriate referral to further learning opportunities; maintain good order and discipline among pupils and safeguard their health and safety; participate in relevant training and school staff meetings and discussions; work co-operatively with all school staff to improve children’s literacy and general development; organise events such as school parties and festivities.
Tutoring Approach: I’m always adapting my methods of tutoring depending on the tutee.
Usually, I’m starting with an evaluation of the tutee, and depending on his/her level of knowledge I’m adopting a particular strategy (e.g, for the absolute beginners in French, I’m starting teaching them elementary words and basic polite expressions in the first tuition session, then introduce the spelling rules and so far). Usually, I’m testing the student every 5th session.
