Information About Matthew
Personal Description: I'm 25, and a practising trainee Solicitor specialising in litigation and property law, but am able to tutor on all aspects of the A-level and CPE/GDL syllabus, including Contract, Tort, Public & Constitutional, Family, EU & EC, Land, Crime and Equity & Trusts.
In a former life I qualified as a software engineer (2005), with a particular speciality in SQL and Oracle database technologies, and was awarded membership to the prestigious Institute of Engineering and Technology. I am also a member of Mensa.
Having spent the last 21 years in the education system, gaining ten GCSEs, three A-levels, a bachelors degree and two postgraduate degrees, and having sat over 40 external exams and completed 3 dissertations, I have acquired a detailed and extensive knowledge of the requirements of today's education system and what is expected of candidates in examinations and assessments.
Tutoring Experience: I am new to commercial private tutoring, although I did lecture undergraduates as part of my Masters degree, and have held additional informal tutorials for other students on my law conversion course on particularly difficult aspects of law. I am happy to tutor small groups at a discount to the usual "per candidate" rate.
Tutoring Approach: It really does depend on the person I'm tutoring and what learning environment best suites them; a class of 100 undergraduates requires a forceful and dominating dynamic, but I find a relaxed and informal environment is better when tutoring individually or in small groups. I am equally happy to assist candidates in last minute preparation for exams or provide long term assistance with a difficult subject.
