Information About Michael
Personal Description: I am 55 years old, married with three grown up children. I was lucky enough to be able to retire early from a career in project and programme management. I have lived in the area for over 20 years and have experience of children of all ages due to my involvement as Chairman of a local Youth Football Club.
Tutoring Experience: Having tutored my children to good grades in both GCSE and A Level, I tutor several children in the area. I have recently undertaken (successful) tutoring of a prospective new teacher requiring a maths qualification. I attend a local primary school on a voluntary basis to assist in Literacy and Numeracy.
Tutoring Approach: My view is that good maths ability has to be built on firm foundations. This includes a good understanding of number and its relevance to the application of mathematical skills. I am patient, willing to work at a pace that does not stress the pupil but always looking to extend them, to enable them to reach their full potential.
From Karen Brown (4/5): Michael is reliable, timely, friendly and puts young people at ease. My daughter is getting on well and likes mikes positive attitude. I would recommend him to friends or family should they require a good maths tutor.
