Personal Description: In September I began a PhD in English Literature with the eventual aim of becoming a Lecturer in English. Whilst my field is primarily twentieth and twenty-first century writing, I am more than happy to work with pupils on earlier periods, such as Shakespeare or the Victorians.

I live in Glasgow, and I am willing to meet pupils from within the surrounding area.

Tutoring Experience: In the past I have worked on both an individual basis and group basis with children of school age, assisting them with the study of literature after school. At this point in my career, I see teaching others as an excellent way of removing myself from the more solitary (but rewarding) work of research, where I spend a lot of time alone with books.

Tutoring Approach: I have a genuine passion for reading, and I try my best to encourage pupils to feel similarly, whilst improving their skills and confidence surrounding their work. Naturally, I recognise that each person I meet will differ in terms of their academic level, or requirements, and I try to tailor my teaching approach to meet the needs of the particular pupil's situation.
