Information About Michelle
Personal Description: I have many years experience working with children in and out of school settings. I graduated as a primary teacher but without Qualified teacher status.
I have been employed as a Teaching Assistant (Level 3) in a state school for two years. I am hoping to train on the Graduate Teaching Programme in the near future, currently doing a science GCSE required for the teacher training. I am ambitious and self motivated and see myself as a good role model.
Tutoring Experience: I am new to the tutoring role, although, i have taught whole classes, groups and individuals within education for the past 6 years. I cover PPA and assist in the general planning. I also assist with the intention of developing childrens skills in most areas across the primary curriculum. My experience has helped children progress in Foundation, Key stage One and some experience tutoring children in key stage two. In additon my experiences have developed other skills in areas such as social, emotional and behavioural.
Tutoring Approach: First and formost my approach to tutoring would be relaxed, to get to know the tutee, there likes and dislikes, and obviously discuss any ongoing problem areas that they have. And to listen to the concerns of the parents/carers. After which to discuss what i call a 'best plan' of action to highlight achievable goals.
In my opinion, most children learn and develop through 'play' just aswell as when sitting at a desk. Children also need time to develop at there own pace which isn't always easy for some in the classroom. So as well as being practical with an aim in sight my approach would include a fun element.

- BA Honours degree in primary education (without QTS) Graduated in 2006.
- Foundation degree. (Maths and English GCSE equivalent)
