Information About Mohsin

Personal Description: I am a final year law student at one of England’s most highly rated universities, King’s College London. Academically, I have performed consistently well throughout my life. I have received numerous awards and prizes for being amongst the best students in my schools and last year I got a high 2.1 with modules as interesting and varied as the Law of Trusts, Law of Property, Intellectual Property and Islamic Law. I will be starting my legal career in 2011 as a Trainee Solicitor at Clifford Chance, a member of the exclusive “Magic Circle” of law firms and the biggest firm in the world in terms of size and revenue.

I am very social and really easy to get along with. My hobbies include singing, playing my guitar, travelling, going to theatres and museums and doing whatever it takes to make the people around me smile. I have performed live in numerous concerts with a band as a guitarist and vocalist. I have gained a considerable amount of experience of working with children by taking part in various volunteering projects in school and at university. I am also fluent in Urdu, Hindi and Sindhi.

Tutoring Experience: During my A’ Levels, I volunteered to go and teach children who were disabled or from disadvantaged backgrounds at institutions that specialised in such services. Last year, I was a part of the King’s College London Street Law project and this required preparing presentations on various facets of the Law and delivering them to schoolchildren in an engaging and memorable way. I am also the eldest of three brothers which means that I have always had to tutor them in their subjects.

Tutoring Approach: My tutoring approach differs according to the needs of the tutees. Basically, after assessing the pupil and understanding what he/she wants, I will devise a study plan and strive to create a comfortable yet productive environment that helps the pupil attain his/her goals as I believe that this is the best way to learn. This means that if you are a student, not only will the sessions be geared towards improving your skills generally but they will also have a particular emphasis on how to do well in exams. I will prepare for every session beforehand with the pupil’s specific needs in mind and provide him/her with learning materials and documents that will help in studies. My teaching method will be geared towards challenging and stimulating the pupil intellectually so he/she can develop critical evaluation and analytical skills (which is a must for subjects like Law and Economics) and making sure that whatever they learn is not easily forgotten.
