Personal Description: I live in Durham and am starting a PhD in English Poetry, having completed an MA in Poetry Studies at Durham in 2008. I previously studied at Bristol University. I've therefore spent the last four years writing essays and dissertations on all aspects of English Literature, ranging from Anglo-Saxon translation, to contemporary fiction and poetry, and including Critical Theory.

I am due to take on teaching responsibilities for undergraduates in the academic year **Telephone Number Removed** and I am currently a pastoral undergraduate tutor for Hatfield College, Durham. My career goal is to teach English Literature at university level. I am in my mid-twenties, so my studies at GSCE, A Level and undergraduate level are still a recent experience for me, and I have helped various people on an informal basis with their studies.

Tutoring Experience: Sixth-Form Mentoring Scheme at St Mary Redcliffe and Temple School, Bristol (mentoring younger pupils whilst attending sixth form).
Reading Group Leader, Bristol University - leading an adult reading group, teaching of literary theory on an informal basis.
Proof-reading of essays and dissertations at A Level and degree level on an informal basis.

Tutoring Approach: My approach to tutoring is flexible, depending on the level of tutoring required.

For GCSE/A Level students it may be most appropriate to begin by using materials already provided by the school, or recommended by the exam board.

For degree level or adult learners I am able to recommend a larger range of literature and resources, and also learning opportunities within the community.

I am happy to provide online tuition (via email or **Contact Detail Removed**) for students based outside Durham, which would be especially suitable for guidance on written work.
