Information About Nicola

Personal Description: I am a fully qualified and experienced teacher both in the classroom and as a tutor. I am now a freelance opera singer who teaches singing, tutors and supply teaches in my local area. I really enjoy working with children and would find it difficult to move away from it completely. I am patient and understand children need encouragement and support when finding something tricky. I have a great sense of humour and try to make sessions fun and interesting.

Tutoring Experience: I qualified in 1998 and worked as a Year 1 teacher in North Kensington for just over two years and then as a Year 4 teacher for two terms before going back to Music College to finish my Music Education. I was a supply teacher all over London from 2001 until last Summer when I moved to Harlow and now supply teach at local schools where schools request me by name and in one instance recently I was offered a permanent job at break-time having taught for two hours. Since 2000 I also have tutored children in London, helping them with entrance exams to schools such as Westminster Cathedral School, Marlborough and St Paul's School for Girls. I also teach singing (Classical/Music Theatre) both privately and at St Marylebone School for Girls in London and at Sawyers Hall College in Brentwood with Essex Music Services.

Tutoring Approach: I approach each child individually and will carry out activities during the first lesson to assess the child's weaknesses and needs. I am patient and will do my utmost to explain something in as many different ways until the child understands it fully. I want to support and encourage the child to reach his or her full potential and do this in a caring and secure environment where learning can take place.

From Rachel Stopard (5/5): Nicola is demonstrating a patient and friendly teaching style. She is happy to go over learning to ensure it is being absorbed and is starting to connect with Florence which I'm sure will help to get the best out of her. Nicola is very reliable and conscientious.

From TRACY WRIGHT (5/5): i am delighted in the difference in my daughter Edens progress since being taught by Nicola. She has a natural rapport with her and has given Eden much needed confidence.
she has tailored all the lessons to exactly what
eden needed and has always got intresting material for
eden to work with and follow up with homework which she enjoys. its all fun for eden and she looks forward to Nicola coming each week and she is now progressing at school and her teachers have noticed a huge difference even after four weeks!!!!! excellent.

From Richard Tan (4/5): We are very pleased with our choice of Nicola. She has a very professional approach and documents the lessons and progress made; whilst at the same time, managing to create an enjoyable 1:1 relationship with each of our children. Lessons are fun and they are already showing signs of benefits. The best compliment I can give is that they are enthusisatic about the lessons and practice what they learnt afterwards on their own.

From fezile lambert (5/5): Nicola is always on time never late, and flexable. Nicola is always willing to listen to what parent has to say. My son has really found her teaching usfull.

I would recommend her.
Mrs lambert
