Personal Description: I am a head of department in a Sheffield Secondary Special School, I originally trained as a primary school teacher with a teaching degree that specialised in English. I take pride in the way I develop a strong and trusting relationship with my students.

Tutoring Experience: I taught for many years in primary schools in Sheffield, from schools on council estates (including my own primary school!) to one of the top primary schools in one of the most affluent areas. More recently I made the move into special education where I am head of music and drama - I still teach most subjects across the curriculum at various levels from p levels to level 4. Since my degree is in English, though, this is the area I feel I have most to offer. As for special needs, I am also a qualified Team Teach Tutor, though I am not allowed to teach people outside of the Sheffield Education Authority as my license only covers that.

Tutoring Approach: I try to take a reasonably laid back approach to the way I work, however, this doesn't mean I put up with slacking! I expect the best from my students and in return they can expect the best from me. I tell my students that if they are willing to put in hard work - then so am I.
