Personal Description: I am currently a second year student at Durham University studying Physics as part of a four year course.

I am available to work in the Manchester area (particularly Bury) during Christmas and Easter holidays.

Tutoring Experience: In my first year at University I took part in a voluntary scheme in which I tutored a student on a one-to-one basis for AS mathematics (I'm pleased to report they achieved an A!) I am looking forward to the challenge of tutoring on a more professional basis.

Tutoring Approach: Having worked hard for my own qualifications, I know the skills which are required to do well and know the best way to pass these on. I believe in schools and 6th form colleges today, some of the most interesting parts of subjects are often skimmed over due to there being so much pressure for students to just learn the subject and get some grades, and this can lead to a lack of enthusiasm for a subject. I was in the same situation as you a few years ago myself - so I know what you're going through!
I aim to base my tutoring around your needs - whether you need the skills a few weeks before an exam to pass or are having general problems with a tricky subject. I have a good knowledge of current science syllabi, especially AQA science and Edexcel Mathematics (although if you are doing a different syllabus then I am adaptable!)

Qualifications:

• A Grades in Mathematics, Physics, Further Mathematics, English Literature and Chemistry
• A* grades in 10 GCSEs, including Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology
• Currently studying Physics at degree level at Durham University (achieved a 1st in first year exams)
