Information About Rhonda

Personal Description: I am 31, I live in Ayr and have two children. As I work full time I am only available to tutor on evenings and weekends. My background is in training and community education so I bring a different set of values to my work than tutors who come from a scholastic teaching background.

Tutoring Experience: I have worked in the college system and for SQA and BCS accredited centres. Although I usually work with adults I have also worked with young people and children. I assessed Customer Care, Business Administration and ICT SVQ's, as well as designing and delivering some management training and committee skills training with groups and employees. I have worked with people with special needs ranging from learning and behavioural issues to physical impairments and personal issues, as well as older and also less confident learners.

Tutoring Approach: I work with a person centred approach - I will ask you what it is that you want to and need to learn and then identify how to best help you to do so. I have a passion for learning myself and am constantly studying, at present for an MSc in Community Learning and Development. I like to help support that enthuasiasm to learn something new and sense of achievement in doing so in the learners I work with. I have a great deal of patience but also expect commitment in return.
