Personal Description: I am 56 years old and a former Higher Officer in the Civil Service. I worked in the Inland Revenue for 35 years and for 20 years I was in management. I had special responsibility for communications for a time and I was experienced at drafting and approving written instructions and guidance for staff. Since retiring early from the Civil Service I have studied English Language (and other subjects) and successfully tutored students for GCSE, A level, and Entrance Exams

Tutoring Experience: I am not a qualified teacher and I have never taught in schools. My experience is on 'one to one' tuition.

Tutoring Approach: My aim with all students to supplement the teaching they receive from school. I concentrate on the student's perceived weaknesses and on common mistakes made by exam candidates. I believe that if the student understands why we write the way we do they will remember more and make fewer mistakes.
