Personal Description: I am a retired teach in my 70's. I have 2 grown up children and 7 grandchildren ranging from 9 to 25 years old.
I was a mature student and started teaching in my 40's therefore have an up to date approach to teaching.
Tutoring Experience: I started teaching in a primary school in Suffolk with 8/9 year olds preparing them for Middle School.
I then spent the last 10 years of my career teaching in a Middle School, 9 - 13 year olds.
I was extremely lucky to be granted a 2 year teacher exchange to Australia so feel that I have a wide experience of their methods also.
Tutoring Approach: I love the idea of a one to one approach and feel that my students would gain from the individual attention. As a teacher I was always spoken of as 'firm but fair' and therefore my classes respected me. I would expect that assignments are completed on time and returned in an organised folder. These would be marked and returned promptly by me.
Qualifications:
As a mature student I attended the West Suffolk College to do more 0 and A levels and gained
a place at the Saffron Walden Teacher Training College from which I graduated in 1976. My
mains was ArtCraft and my strengths were English, Environmental Studies, Maths and History
