Personal Description: I went to Nottingham University where I took an honours degree in chemistry.
I then went to Reading University where I studied chemical spectroscopy and obtained a PhD

Tutoring Experience: I taught Chemistry for 34 years at Charterhouse where I was Head of Chemistry and Head of Exams. When I moved on from head of department to head of exams, 79% were achieving grade A at A2 level.

Tutoring Approach: I expect the student to know what his problems are.
I want to know which topics/areas of the subject are causing concern.
I will then go through each topic in consultation with the student trying to simplify and rationalise the ideas.
I want to be questioned whenever misunderstandings occur.
I will then want to go through several exam questions on the topic causing concern

• BSc (Hons) Chemistry
• PhD Chemistry
• I am an AQA exam marker for AS and A2 level Chemistry
