Personal Description: I have wide experience of teaching all subjects at KS1 and KS2, both in the public and private sectors of education.

Currently teaching on a supply basis, I am able to focus on the educational needs of each year group at both Key Stages.I am both flexible and sensitive to the individual needs of children whilst assessing the best way to access subjects for each child, using a variety of approaches.

Tutoring Experience: My twenty years' experience of teaching in the public sector encompasses focus on Years 2 and 5, but I have broad experience additionally of all year groups since working as a supply teacher for the past two years.

Over the last five years, I have gained considerable experience of teaching privately, on a one-to-one basis, children with varying needs for additional help with Maths and English.

Further to this experience, I have tutored children up to entrance examination level for private schools.

Tutoring Approach: Discussion with pupils is of paramount importance, as they are the ones who can pinpoint their individual difficulties and goals. Using a variety of assessment methods, finding the appropriate place to begin is the next step in successful tutoring. Together with the pupil's ability to access prior learning, the process of tutoring is then accurate and focused.

Sensitivity to the pupil's ability to apply to learning, tuition sessions may be divided into small sections of varied activity, recorded, verbal and activity-based.
