Personal Description: I am an approachable person with an enthusiasm for teaching and for maths.
Whatever your needs, I can help you appreciate that maths is relevant and can actually be enjoyable (don’t laugh)
I am generous (sometimes) so am offering your first lesson at half price with no obligation
Tutoring Experience: I am a qualified maths teacher with 15 years experience of teaching maths at all levels in schools, colleges, and universities on the following courses- GCSE, AS, A-level, Key Stage 3, Application of Number, IB, Access, Foundation Degree, Basic Skills.
I have also trained maths / numeracy teachers on the PGCE and Cert Ed.
In addition, I provided private maths tuition at all levels on and off for 10 years.
Tutoring Approach: OK, you might not like maths or maybe are a bit afraid of maths. That’s fine, you’re not alone. I realise that you are an individual with your own specific mathematical talents (yes, you will have some) and difficulties. The art of a good teacher is to ‘get inside’ the mind of their student to recognise and address these specific needs. I will help you to build your confidence in the subject and the knowledge will naturally follow.
Maybe you do like maths, but just need a little extra help because in your current lessons there doesn’t seem to be the time to consolidate all the stuff you are learning. I can give you that time with clear explanations to reinforce and develop your knowledge.
