Personal Description: My name is Sarah. I graduated from Birmingham University in English and History in 2004 and then went on to train at the University of Manchester for my teaching qualifications.
I am currently working at a successful secondary school in St Albans and previously worked for two years at a Manchester High school. I have been tutoring for a year now, and work well with students 1:1 as well as small groups. I have also done voluntary coaching in Manchester to help groups of high school students prepare for their GCSEs in a fun environment outside of the classroom. I love Arsenal, but am happy to tutor fans of other teams, even Manchester United!

Tutoring Experience: Fully qualified English teacher, ages 11-16 in both English language and literature. Most familiar with the AQA exam board but can happily tutor in preparation for other boards. I am in my third year of teaching.

Tutoring Approach: I know that students are giving extra time after a long day at school for private tuition so I try to make the sessions fun, fast paced and focused on what the individual tutee requires. I have a range of resources, past papers, texts and practice tasks based on my classroom materials. These are updated regularly. I like to find out about the individual tutee, their targets, strengths and weaknesses and build the sessions around this information. I am approachable, easy to talk to and make the tutee feel at ease.
