Information About Stuart
Personal Description: I am 31 years old and from am originally from Scotland. I have been living in England for six years. I am patient and have a good sense of humour. Most importantly I am enthusitic about the subjects that I teach.
Tutoring Experience: I am a Head of the Department at a high performing secondary school with six years teaching experience. I have taught History from years 7-13 for six years and have also been a Head of Department for Politics and Sociology both of which I have taught extensively. I have worked with young people at all levels of ability. I am an experienced exam marker and have helped countless students to prepare successfully for their examinations. I have taught Edexcel, OCR and AQA exam boards and I have up to date knowledge of the recent changes to A' Level specifications.
Tutoring Approach: I realise that everyone has a unique learning style and I tailor any teaching that I give to an individual's requirements. If you are a gifted, high achiever who wants to ensure that you gain an A grade then I will stretch your learning to the highest levels. Likewise, if you are really struggling then I will reteach you the basics of a subject to ensure that you do not fail. If you learn using visuals, these will be emphasised. If you learn under pressure, tests will be given. If you cannot process written work well, verbal learning will be emphasized. If you find exam technique problematic then I will help you with practice questions. I understand that you might not fit into the stereotypical read-and-rehearse pattern and that's OK. I have a flair for making difficult concepts simple, and I will try to build up your confidence in order to ensure that you reach your potential.
