Personal Description: I am a 22 year old Postgraduate at the University of Edinburgh studying Operational Research. I have just completed my Undergraduate degree in Mathematics for which I obtained a 2:1. I have studied in Scotland throughout my school career where I took part in both the British Physics Olympiad and the UK Mathematical Challenge, attaining Merit and a Silver respectively.
Tutoring Experience: I have no formal teaching qualifications, but I am enthusiastic about my subjects and have an eagerness to pass on my knowledge. I have practice in tutoring my peers, particularly at the Scottish Higher and Advanced Higher levels of my subjects.
Tutoring Approach: It is my firm belief that the pupil should first understand the concepts that they are dealing with and be able to put their studies into real-world terms to facilitate faster and more qualitative learning.
Using the resource materials currently available to the pupil means that they can more easily transfer their extra-curricular learning into the school taught syllabus. Alternative resources will be recommended if necessary.
Qualifications:
2:1 in Mathematics (Hons), University of Edinburgh.
Advanced Highers: Mathematics, Applied Mathematics (Mechanics), Physics. All achieved A band 1.
Highers: Mathematics and Physics, both at A band 1.
