Personal Description: I am an experienced solicitor specialising in corporate and commercial law. I have practised for the last 10 years in London but recently returned to the Isle of Wight where I live with my wife and two young daughters.

I work full-time as a solicitor, but enjoy the challenge of tutoring/mentoring. I am available to tutor a very limited number of dedicated students on an ongoing basis. I will tutor either from my home on the Isle of Wight or by special arrangement during weekday evenings in Portsmouth and/or on the Island.

Tutoring Experience: I have given numerous seminars and conferences and lectured widely for a number of commercial organisations, particularly on my specialist subject of the internet/e-commerce (ex Vice-Chairman of the Society for Computers and Law in London; legal correspondent to, inter alia, Internet Business and Webspace magazines).

Taught legal drafting, time management and supervised and mentored junior assistants / trainess.

Tutoring Approach: My approach to tutoring is practical, as one might expect from someone working in business. I teach by encouraging students to think for themselves by problem-solving. I prefer to work on a complementary basis to an existing course-provider, re-inforcing and clarifying as well as providing extension activities.

More than anything, I like to see my students gain a respect and appreciation of the law and the role that it plays within society. Students should understand the law, not just remember it!
