Personal Description: A fully-qualified teacher, I am a mathematics graduate who works at a college in West Yorkshire. My enthusiasm and inspiration are drawn from family life, study, teaching, community work and sport.
Tutoring Experience: In addition to having tutored for over 4 years, I mark national tests regularly. I enjoy tutoring mostly A Level and GCSE mathematics. I have provided instruction to engineering students at Bradford University with respect to the pure mathematics, mechanics and statistics components of their foundation, 1st and 2nd year examinations. Other than registration with The Chartered Institute of Educational Assessors (CIEA), I am also a member of The Association of Teachers of Mathematics (ATM). I possess a firm grasp of mathematics and an acute awareness of the preparation required for examination success.
Tutoring Approach: The vast majority of students have endorsed my effectiveness at breaking down and explaining clearly some of the more peculiar concepts in different subject areas; often, tutees have remarked: "Wow, that stuff was easier than I thought!".
I am approachable, calm and anxious to raise self-motivation as well as build the confidence of the tutee. As a mainstay, students are persuaded towards an organised yet flexible study schedule which allows opportunities to continually assess the progress being made. With reasonable exception, I encourage students to work to agreed deadlines and to maintain distinctly good study habits.
Throughout our journey, you will find me committed and prepared to go that extra mile!
