Personal Description: I have lived and worked in West Cornwall all my life and know the area schools very well. I have varied interests, including art, music, literature and film. I'll soon be taking a CELTA course, to teach English as a foreign language.

Tutoring Experience: 12 years as a primary school teacher in Cornwall, teaching all subjects, to children from 6 to 11. Particular strengths in Literacy, Numeracy, Geography and History.

Tutoring Approach: I work up from solid foundations, with reading skills being key. I use a variety of teaching styles and creative resources, to allow every pupil the greatest chance of success. I believe children learn best when encouraged positively, through progressively structured tasks.I use reward schemes and put emphasis on working with the child in a calm yet creative manner.
